UPDATE!!!

GIZ - BANAN

Happy New year Guys!

I Can't keep calm, It's 2017. Thank God we made it.....God has indeed been faithful to us all, and I pray that he will see us through this year and many more years to come. Amen.
Today's post is a food one. I know right not your typical new year post  but it's appropriate for the celebration mode, and might even come in handy this season and guess what it's not time consuming and absolutely very tasty.
Giz - Banan is basically prepared with Gizzard and banana.... I wanted to recreate the delicious Giz- dodo which is gizzard and plantain but my plan was brought to ruin because am currently in a country where there is no plantain can you imagine that?? So I used banana and it came out better than expected. If you are lover of gizzard this is just another way to eat it.

                                                            INGREDIENTS

  • 650 g of Gizzard
  • 4 Bananas
  • 2 Bulbs of Onion
  • 3 Cloves of garlic
  • 3/4  Tablespoon of Red pepper
  • 1 Teaspoon of Black pepper
  • 1 Teaspoon of onion carrot spice
  • 1/2 Teaspoon of salt
  • 2 Cubes of Maggi
  • 2 Cups of water
  • 2 Cayenne Pepper
  • 1/4 Teaspoon of Curry powder
  • 6 Tablespoons of Grounded Tomatoes
  • 1/4 Teaspoons of dried Rosemary
  • 6 Tablespoons of  Groundnut oil

                                                             PROCEDURE

Step 1: To a pot containing already washed gizzard, add the chopped onions, grounded ginger & garlic, maggi, pepper and salt. Stir and allow to simmer for 5 minutes.

Step 2; Add water and boil till it's tender and set aside

Step 3:In another pot, add the groundnut oil and heat for about 5 minutes. Then add the chopped onions, maggi, dried rosemary, curry powder, ginger & Garlic and fry until the onions is translucent.

Step 4; Add your chopped Cayenne pepper, Grounded tomatoes and continue frying until the oil begins to appear.

Step 5: Add a little bit of the gizzard stock to the above mixture and stir.

Step 6: Place the gizzard into the sauce, and allow to boil for 5 minutes.

Step 7; Add the chopped bananas and stir lightly.

And there you have it, the Giz-banan is ready to be served. Serve with rice, drinks or anything of your choice.

p.S: I did not fry the banana. I just added it like that ,So feel free to fry your's if you wish.

Have you tried the Giz-Banan? or are you going to try this? Please leave your comment below.... # Jekasoro
