I am a proud Nigerian. I was raised in IJEBU-ODE a town in OGUN STATE with a very high population of Muslims. The aim of this write-up is to change the mindset of Everyone about their Views of the MUSLIM COMMUNITY and why they don't owe US an apology .
As an individual I can't imagine walking down the road and being blamed for the condition of the road or just sitting down and getting the stick for practically existing.That is practically what Muslims are going through in the world today. People wrongly judge over 1.6 BILLION Muslims in the world today for the heinous acts carried out by people who use the cloak of religion to show case their ignorance and spread violence around the world. But logically 1.6 BILLION people{an estimate} can't be evil right??????
I -- MUSLIMS SHOULD NEVER HAVE TO APOLOGIZE FOR TERRORISM BECAUSE--
It is obvious now that the Muslim community condemns terrorism.We live in a social media era
and all it takes is a casual check of the internet to check the major percentage of people affected by
Terrorism . If the fact that a lot of Muslims worldwide are being killed in places like Borno,Syria,Turkey,London isn't enough to proof their Lack of Support of these so called religious killings...NOTHING CAN CURE YOUR STRONG HATRED FOR MUSLIMS.
II-MUSLIMS ARE THE FIRST LINE OF DEFENSE AT COMBATING TERRORISM
What's worse than telling people to apologize for something that is affecting them when they are on the forefront of combating the virus called terrorism through words and actions. I have Muslim friends and relatives who always drum it into me that ISLAM IS A RELIGION OF PEACE
NOT ONE THAT CONDONES MURDER{SUICIDE BOMBINGS,BEHEADING,SHOOTING&OTHER ACTS OF VIOLENCE} .. If medical practitioners do not need to apologize for treating people despite potential bad eggs among medical doctors then Muslims, I think do not need to apologize for the atrocities and damages caused by the bad eggs who use religion as a camouflage to commit acts of terrorism
III --IF MUSLIMS NEED TO APOLOGIZE THEN SO SHOULD EVERYONE
We are all guilty of one act or another, but to condemn a religious group for the actions of bad
elements,this is at a time when we all say we despise racism ,we all claim that no race is superior to
the other,but we actually practice a new brand of racism one that affects our perceptions of Muslims.I
mean we see a fully clothed Muslim Man or Woman and part of our thoughts conclude the person
might be a POTENTIAL TERRORIST.We owe them an apology for dehumanizing them and
disrespecting this noble Religion.They are embarassed at airports,public places because of who they
are,and this must stop,They do not deserve this,NO ONE DOES!!!
THE MESSAGE FROM ME IS SIMPLE,STOP BASHING MUSLIMS IF AFTER SEEING THE DAMAGE CAUSED BY TERRORISTS & YOU CAN STILL ASK IF ISLAM IS A RELIGION OF VIOLENCE OR IF MUSLIMS SUPPORT TERRORISM THEN YOU ARE QUESTIONING THEIR HUMANITY BUT PLEASE WHILE YOU ARE AT IT
PLEASE QUESTION YOURS!!!
